This Bur Oak Goldilocks Refined Grip is one of Greg’s most fully appointed builds, incorporating nearly all of his favorite details and finishing touches. Hand crafted from 5/32″ 1095 high-carbon steel, the 4″ coffee-etched drop point blade features a striking deep black finish with subtle texture, excellent edge retention, and the rugged character that makes carbon steel so appealing. Thumb jimping along the spine provide enhanced control for detailed work, slicing, and everyday tasks. Measuring 8½” overall and weighing 6.3 ounces, this compact knife is well-balanced for everyday carry, hunting, and general utility.

The handle combines stabilized Florida Bur Oak scales with a contrasting stabilized Florida Live Oak bolster. Three Mosaic Star pins provide both strength and distinctive detail, while red, white, and blue spacers add a subtle patriotic accent. The result is a warm, comfortable grip that highlights the beauty of locally sourced hardwoods.

Greg completed the knife with a custom vegetable-tanned leather retention strap sheath. Hand-cut, dyed in rich two-toned browns, and meticulously hand-stitched with linen thread, it provides secure carry and develops even more character with age.

While some Goldilocks models are built with simpler appointments, this one is fully loaded. It’s a standout combination of beauty, performance, and craftsmanship—the qualities that make GreBec knives special.

Care: Hand wash and dry only. A light coat of mineral oil on the blade and beeswax on the sheath will help keep this knife performing and looking its best for years to come.
