In 2024, Hurricane Milton swept through Putnam County, Florida, bringing down a Southern Magnolia tree. A local landscaper friend rescued some of the wood, giving Greg the opportunity to transform a piece of that fallen tree into something lasting. Greg carefully dried and stabilized the wood before shaping it into the handle scales for this knife.

Southern Magnolia’s subtle grain and warm, natural coloring give the handle a distinctive character. Three brass pins add a classic touch while securing the handle scales. Every piece of wood has its own grain and personality, making this knife a unique example of Greg’s craftsmanship and connection to Florida’s natural resources.
