The Wild Plum Little Camper #185, a highlight of GreBec Knives’ Florida Wood Series, blends craftsmanship with a touching family story. Greg handcrafted this knife, using stabilized Florida Wild Plum for the handle, sourced from a cherished tree on our property. This tree bloomed vibrantly every late January until ants sadly claimed it one summer. Greg salvaged the wood, preserving its legacy in this unique blade. Notably, Florida Wild Plum is exceptionally rare in knife-making—our research found no other custom or commercial knives using this wood, making this piece truly one-of-a-kind. A stabilized Florida Pecan bolster, accented with red, white, and blue G10 spacers and mild steel pins, creates a patriotic, eye-catching design that honors our roots.
