Meet the Pignut Hickory Devon Knife—a signature design in the GreBec Knives lineup, born from true collaboration. Longtime customer Devon worked closely with Greg to create the ideal workhorse knife for daily tasks and field use. Greg was so impressed with the knife’s balance and practicality that it became a permanent offering. While he considers it a top-tier hunting knife, the Devon excels just as easily at camping, bushcraft, and everyday carry.
The handle is the standout feature. Made from stabilized Florida Pignut Hickory—one of the hardest native U.S. woods (Janka hardness 2,140 lbf)—it delivers outstanding shock resistance and durability. Stabilization enhances moisture resistance and long-term stability while preserving the wood’s natural beauty: warm light-to-medium brown tones, subtle grain variation, and unique character in every knife. Three signature star mosaic pins complete the handle with a rock-solid, heirloom-quality fit.
With an overall length of 8 1/2″ and weighing 6.8 oz, the Devon feels balanced and comfortable in hand, even during extended use. Each knife includes a premium vegetable-tanned leather retention sheath, custom cut, dyed, and stitched for secure carry and quick access.
